Hello! My name is Zoe Anderson and I am The Intrepid Artist. Born in West Lothian, Scotland. From a young age I was a bit of an art geek. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fashion Design from Heriot Watt University in the Scottish borders and I have a master's in intrepid exploring from the school of life.

After University I spent several years in retail management for a designer fashion brand whilst dabbling in dressmaking for the formal/bridalwear market.

During and after my studies I spent a lot of time in London where I was inspired by a mixed bag of characters. From photographers, designers and models to random backpackers from all corners of the globe.

A wide eyed twenty-one year old, I found I was just as intrigued by the travellers stories of crazy, spontaneous adventure as I was by the sexy, often superficial social climbing of the fashion industry.

After 6 years of career focus and adulting I eventually hit an emotional rock bottom. At the age of 27 I decided it was time to get out there and see the world. 

Having gone to the dark depths of depression, not knowing what to do with my life, questioning my choices, and ultimately who I was. I know how it feels to dream of adventure but to fear the unknown.

Taking that first leap of faith is all it takes to spark the momentum and once you break free there is a whole world of possibilities Infront of you.

My mission is to use my art to inspire more people to take that leap, to go out there and travel the world. Do it alone, do it with a partner, do it with friends!

Just do it!

Don't fuss over the details, don't wait for someone else to say yes, make the most of the time you have to explore our amazing planet! It might be the best thing you ever do.

With a working holiday visa, a one way ticket and a giant smile on my face, I set off for Australia.

My family scoffed and said "She'll be back in 6 months". More than 7 years have passed and I never gave up on my dream. I found my passion for exploration, experiences, new cultures and people and I've never felt more free.

Currently resting in Tasmania, watch this space for some epic scenery, peaceful sunset kayaking and hopefully some of my best artwork to date...
